We are beautiful no matter what they say

Women in general wants to be sexy, feel sexy and look sexy if possible. All cards are out now girlfriend. It is just a fact I am stating here. And I agree with Cristina Aguilera when she said  “we are beautiful no matter what they say”. We have to see our own beauty and feel it as well.

Today women have so many options and ways they can make themselves feel sexy. They can buy shoes, clothes or intimates in which we have so many to choose from. Let’s just take the women’s underwear, there are several types of undies that I know of and they are : tanga , boy shorts, g- string and of course the oldtimer - the granny panites.

Boyshorts is my favorite of all. I personally consider comfort first and then the looks of the garment.  I mean I wouldn’t want to look hot and totally uncomfortable - that’s not cool. Also what I wear for the day depends on my moods. It can be that I am feeling happy and giddy - if so then I might be wearing a cute boyshorts with playful colors. If I wanna have a romantic day with the hubby, I might wear one that is really seductive like something with lace or so.

Valentines day is coming guys! You now have an idea what you can get your wife or girlfriend ;).

Hungry for Seafood

On my trips to the Philippines, I make sure I eat lots of seafood. Why? In the Philippines you can buy fresh seafood in almost every wet market and it is not expensive at all. I especially like tilapia, lobster, milkfish, shrimps and crabs. You can cook these ones in so many ways. You can fry them, cook with coconut, grill and so many more.

When I was living in the Netherlands, my girlfriend Marlene would always give me a call to share a crab feast with her. It is always fun to eat with somebody. Ah those are the good old times. The thought of crab is making me hungry and miss my friend of course. I am thinking of cooking a seafood dish sometime this week.

If are already salivating too with the thought of yummy crabs and would like to cook some crab dishes, make sure that you keep condiments to a minimum because the crab itself is already so tasty. The crab should be the focal point of your dish.

Eating fresh seafood is a great way to increase your consumption of amino acids and not to forget the essential fatty acids. But for women who are trying to get pregnant like me, keep in mind that you must avoid fish that has high mercury levels like king mackerel and shark.

Bag Business

I am thinking of setting up business in the near future, this year maybe if our situation permits it. I have always been an entrepreneur by heart. I always wanted to have my own shop but I really don’t know yet what kind of business I am going into.

When I was growing up my parents have had several businesses; a bakery but I was still very young so I did not really learn anything at that moment, a mini grocery that sells all kinds of everyday household items where I did some experience by manning it after school hours.

But I am not building a bakery nor a mini grocery, I am more of an artsy fartsy and a fashionista so if I were to have a shop, it would be something fashionable or crafty.

I saw a site called Costco where you can order custom bags. That just gave me an idea! I always had the passion for bags, so setting up a bag business is something that really speaks to me. Looking at their sites I saw that they do have a lot of products to choose from. They have very nice zipper bags which are the safest type of bags if you ask me. No need to worry about losing your stuff. You can either order bags with metal, nylon or Pin-locking zipper pull. Other items that they offer are mailbag, pizza bags, cooler bags , deposit bags and so much more.

Well I really need to think this through and come up with a very good business plan.

2008 has been an eventful year for everybody all over the world. 2009 is here, don’t you just love New Year? For me it means new beginnings and I am looking forward to whatever fate will bring us this year.

I wish everybody who visits me here the best of luck!!!

I just wanna say that I am glad I have met so many wonderful people through blogging, yes you too included and I hope to see you more this coming year.

I have written some goals and plans for myself for this year

My Goals for 2009:

1) Have a baby – That’s no. 1 on my list, but of course I will try not to forget enjoy the process of procreation. I do not intend to stress myself on this subject. It will happen in due time. And besides I am not that old yet so there is no rush.

2) Earn a steady online income. I want to learn more about SEO and all that stuff and develop my sites furthur. I just love the idea of earning while I am just at home, I never thought it was possible.

3) Develop my writing skills. I always love writing and now that I realized I could earn from that I would like develop my skills further.

4) Meet blogger friends in real life. It sounds fun!I hope that this year I can meet at least one of my blogger friends. I will probably meet Makoy here in Singapore one of these days. It’s a pity Ria and I didn’t meet last year here in Singapore but there’s always a next time.

5) Explore my country of birth. I have been to several countries but sad to say I haven’t really seen much of my own birth country. Philippines is such a beautiful country. This year hopefully we will have the chance to do that.

6) Try to become more organized. That’s not really my forte but I will try and try until I die.

7) Be more active. I am becoming lazy. All I wanna do is blog. Blogging made me wanna stay home all the time. When I am online I forget about the time - it’s probably a good thing because instead of spending money in useless things I am earning money. But I do need to be more active so I can lose a few kilos.

8) Prepare a business plan for the eco resort I want to start. It would be alot of work that’s why I need to do some preparation for this. I don’t know yet where to start.

9) Start the building of our house in the Philippines. This needs to happen within this year.

10) Live at the moment and enjoy life. This has always been my life’s motto. I always try to do that because hey we will never know when it’s over he’.

11) I will update this when I remember.

Travel securely

I love traveling! I always look forward for our next trip whether it will just be across the border of the country we are living in or all the way to a different continent. The worst nightmare a traveler can have is lose his luggage or that his luggage break and expose all his or her personal effects …that would be just awful right?

When travelling make sure you use a sturdy luggage like Rimowa .

Preparing for the New Year

I have about 1 day and a half to do some serious spring cleaning - that’s what I wish or plan to do at least. I wanted to welcome the New Year with a very organized abode but the process of sorting out things I accumulate throughout the years is just very difficult for me. I mean some like my hubby might call it junk but to me they are treasures of the past. These “treasures” I call can be translated to little trinkets I found on vacation trips, postcards I have never used, things bought out of impulse and are sitting in a box or two accumulating dust in one corner. Throwing these things away is like letting go of great memories. Yeah I know I am so dramatic!

When will I ever use these things?

I promised myself that I will be more practical and organized this 2009 so that’s why I will throw all the stuff we haven’t used for like a year and same for things that I cannot let go because they cost so much when we first bought it.

I need to do some general cleaning too. I am going to clean the window sills now the kitchen afterward.  If I am in the good mood I might wash the curtains too. I wish this rental house had blinds or plantation shutters like the one I saw at Smithandnoble instead of curtains; it would have been much easier to clean and would be prettier too.

I have so many things to do so I better go now and actually start cleaning up.

The Web hosting Bluebook

I have been blogging for awhile now. In a few weeks it will be almost a year. I must tell you I am really glad that I now have my very own hosting. It is not just about the freedom of being able to do whatever I want with my site but it also gives me a sense of security. I don’t need to worry anymore about losing access to my site as happened with me when I was using the free blogging services.

If you are an experienced webmaster you definitely know what to look for in web hosting packages but for newbies this can be a little bit confusing and the information you gather might be even overwhelming. I know cause I once was also a newbie.

You should check the website www.webhostingbluebook.org to get a excellent comparison of web hosting companies globally. This web hosting bluebook for webmasters provides you with an overview of the top web hosting companies around. You can do your own search of course, but to be honest with you, the reviews I saw here is as good as it could get so why waste time.

Expressing yourself

I have lived with my husband in the Netherlands for more than 4 years. One day, he called me from work  and asked me if I wanted to move to Singapore. The answer to that was an immediate Yes of course! I loved the idea of moving to Singapore. First because it is warm and sunny in contrast to The Netherlands’ gray skies. I also loved the varieties of food they have here and the places that we can explore.

We moved to Singapore and explored it. There were times though that my husband needs to go on business trips to the US because their headquarters is there. That used to be a difficult time for me because I would feel lonely. My friends in Europe are just waking up when I am about to sleep.

I did try to meet people, make friends with expat wives from expat forums. I went to a couple of meet ups but most of them have kids or are pregnant. I didn’t fit in. They would talk about things I have not experienced yet or things I am not really interested in e.g like country club memberships and the latest baby strollers. It was all about keeping up appearances and I didn’t really want to be a part of any of that.

I tried to meet Filipinos as well but again I did not fit in because they are all in the workforce or are planning to join the workforce. It was very difficult time for me.

So to fill my boredom, I spent lots of hours browsing and reading in the internet. I saw people expressing themselves through their blogs. They even  Create Blog discussions asking readers what they think of a certain topic. It looks fun so I tried it and now it is already a part of my life.

Growing up, I kept a diary and I wrote there there my thoughts on things that I could not share with my parents or friends thinking they might not understand me. I also write there when I feel sad or lonely. But in this new age, people share their thoughts on blogs. And it is just amazing how people from other parts of the world can relate to what you are saying. My blog is a place I created a place where I can just be me and write down everything that comes to mind.

My First Time

You might have noticed I have not been very active lately in the blogging world, it’s because I am just taking things slowly these days. I don’t wanna get stressed. I am trying to enjoy the little things in my everyday life.

I have been catching up with my reading. I finished the Twilight and New Moon before and while we were on our vacation last November in the Philippines. I am just crazy about this series. I am now starting on the third book - thanks to my dear brother Jamelle I don’t need to buy it.  A friend of him gave him an ebook.

Also I just watched the movie yesterday. It was my first time ever to go to the cinema alone. I couldn’t manage to drag hubby to watch this teen flick so I just needed to do it by myself. I already told myself, I will not set my expectations to high on this movie. It is always the case right, when you read the book first - the movie would be always not so good. And unfortunately it is true in this case. It was not bad just less than  how I imagined it should be.

Oh well I will still watch the sequel though - I hope it gets better on the next movie.

Pop Concerts

Let me tell you a little secret, I have never been to a concert before. Isn’t that curious? Well, I have been to mini concerts but not to a real pop concert with the likes of Britney Spears or any other famous pop artists.
It’s just the venue is either too far for me to go to or the ticket price is too expensive for my budget. I really want to go to a pop concert at least once in my life and I think that watching a concert will be in my “To do” list this coming year.

Oh I know, I will save up to buy Concert Tickets for my birthday and do it once and for all. I just hope that some good show comes to Singapore that both my husband and I would like to see. Another problem however is I am the type of person who takes forever to decide. So it could turn out to be a last minute buy for me. I know a great site called Tickets to Go where you can purchase tickets not only for concerts but also sports tickets and theater tickets and the great thing about this site is that they have tons on information about all the shows they have available.

What about you, what concerts or shows have you seen so far ? I also like plays and was thinking of watching Cinderella with Leah Salonga. I wonder if it’s good? Have you seen any show from her - would love to know what you thought of it.
