We are beautiful no matter what they say

Women in general wants to be sexy, feel sexy and look sexy if possible. All cards are out now girlfriend. It is just a fact I am stating here. And I agree with Cristina Aguilera when she said  “we are beautiful no matter what they say”. We have to see our own beauty and feel it as well.

Today women have so many options and ways they can make themselves feel sexy. They can buy shoes, clothes or intimates in which we have so many to choose from. Let’s just take the women’s underwear, there are several types of undies that I know of and they are : tanga , boy shorts, g- string and of course the oldtimer - the granny panites.

Boyshorts is my favorite of all. I personally consider comfort first and then the looks of the garment.  I mean I wouldn’t want to look hot and totally uncomfortable - that’s not cool. Also what I wear for the day depends on my moods. It can be that I am feeling happy and giddy - if so then I might be wearing a cute boyshorts with playful colors. If I wanna have a romantic day with the hubby, I might wear one that is really seductive like something with lace or so.

Valentines day is coming guys! You now have an idea what you can get your wife or girlfriend ;).

2008 has been an eventful year for everybody all over the world. 2009 is here, don’t you just love New Year? For me it means new beginnings and I am looking forward to whatever fate will bring us this year.

I wish everybody who visits me here the best of luck!!!

I just wanna say that I am glad I have met so many wonderful people through blogging, yes you too included and I hope to see you more this coming year.

I have written some goals and plans for myself for this year

My Goals for 2009:

1) Have a baby – That’s no. 1 on my list, but of course I will try not to forget enjoy the process of procreation. I do not intend to stress myself on this subject. It will happen in due time. And besides I am not that old yet so there is no rush.

2) Earn a steady online income. I want to learn more about SEO and all that stuff and develop my sites furthur. I just love the idea of earning while I am just at home, I never thought it was possible.

3) Develop my writing skills. I always love writing and now that I realized I could earn from that I would like develop my skills further.

4) Meet blogger friends in real life. It sounds fun!I hope that this year I can meet at least one of my blogger friends. I will probably meet Makoy here in Singapore one of these days. It’s a pity Ria and I didn’t meet last year here in Singapore but there’s always a next time.

5) Explore my country of birth. I have been to several countries but sad to say I haven’t really seen much of my own birth country. Philippines is such a beautiful country. This year hopefully we will have the chance to do that.

6) Try to become more organized. That’s not really my forte but I will try and try until I die.

7) Be more active. I am becoming lazy. All I wanna do is blog. Blogging made me wanna stay home all the time. When I am online I forget about the time - it’s probably a good thing because instead of spending money in useless things I am earning money. But I do need to be more active so I can lose a few kilos.

8) Prepare a business plan for the eco resort I want to start. It would be alot of work that’s why I need to do some preparation for this. I don’t know yet where to start.

9) Start the building of our house in the Philippines. This needs to happen within this year.

10) Live at the moment and enjoy life. This has always been my life’s motto. I always try to do that because hey we will never know when it’s over he’.

11) I will update this when I remember.

Travel securely

I love traveling! I always look forward for our next trip whether it will just be across the border of the country we are living in or all the way to a different continent. The worst nightmare a traveler can have is lose his luggage or that his luggage break and expose all his or her personal effects …that would be just awful right?

When travelling make sure you use a sturdy luggage like Rimowa .

Preparing for the New Year

I have about 1 day and a half to do some serious spring cleaning - that’s what I wish or plan to do at least. I wanted to welcome the New Year with a very organized abode but the process of sorting out things I accumulate throughout the years is just very difficult for me. I mean some like my hubby might call it junk but to me they are treasures of the past. These “treasures” I call can be translated to little trinkets I found on vacation trips, postcards I have never used, things bought out of impulse and are sitting in a box or two accumulating dust in one corner. Throwing these things away is like letting go of great memories. Yeah I know I am so dramatic!

When will I ever use these things?

I promised myself that I will be more practical and organized this 2009 so that’s why I will throw all the stuff we haven’t used for like a year and same for things that I cannot let go because they cost so much when we first bought it.

I need to do some general cleaning too. I am going to clean the window sills now the kitchen afterward.  If I am in the good mood I might wash the curtains too. I wish this rental house had blinds or plantation shutters like the one I saw at Smithandnoble instead of curtains; it would have been much easier to clean and would be prettier too.

I have so many things to do so I better go now and actually start cleaning up.

My First Time

You might have noticed I have not been very active lately in the blogging world, it’s because I am just taking things slowly these days. I don’t wanna get stressed. I am trying to enjoy the little things in my everyday life.

I have been catching up with my reading. I finished the Twilight and New Moon before and while we were on our vacation last November in the Philippines. I am just crazy about this series. I am now starting on the third book - thanks to my dear brother Jamelle I don’t need to buy it.  A friend of him gave him an ebook.

Also I just watched the movie yesterday. It was my first time ever to go to the cinema alone. I couldn’t manage to drag hubby to watch this teen flick so I just needed to do it by myself. I already told myself, I will not set my expectations to high on this movie. It is always the case right, when you read the book first - the movie would be always not so good. And unfortunately it is true in this case. It was not bad just less than  how I imagined it should be.

Oh well I will still watch the sequel though - I hope it gets better on the next movie.

Once in awhile I would indulge myself and get a mani/pedi. Watching this video reminded  me of an almost similar chat between me and the manicurist. Watch it and I assure you- you’ll laugh,

Okay, before you continue reading - better finish your other chores first ;) and then when you are done, get some drinks and maybe some chips or carrots sticks (whatever!) because this is gonna be quite a long post.

The continuation of my vacation story:
After almost a week in Puerto Princesa we went to Narra where our tree farms are located. We went to our usual accommodation - La Vista Resort to drop our luggages and stretch a bit after our two hour journey.

After we have rested we went on to visit our trees at our farms. We are very keen to see how are they all doing. Oh have I mentioned that to you before - we do have tree plantations and we have about 80,000 hardwood trees planted in our tree farms in Palawan as of this year.On the way to our properties- we encountered a bit of a problem. One of our car’s wheel got stuck in the mud ( Oh Oh!) and it was so difficult to get it out. I have no idea how many man they needed to get it out because I already walked towards the farm together with my MIL and other ladies. I guess that is one of the privileges in being a woman - you don’t do the dirty work ;). We arrived before lunch time and I think they finally finish trying to get the car out of the mud at about 3 pm. Poor guys!

Anyway, more about the farm - we have been planting trees for several years now for ourselves and other people who would like to have trees of their own. People can buy trees as gift to their loved ones or even as an investment.

Trees are among the earth’s most useful and beautiful products of nature. Trees are crucial to mankind’s survival. The oxygen we breathe is released by trees and other plants - two mature trees provide enough oxygen for a family of four; trees prevent erosion; trees provide food, shelter, and material for animals and man. As trees grow they help reduce global warming by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and the soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. One acre of trees removes 2.6 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Investing in trees helps improve our environment!

bullet

Trees planted on farms offer to woodworkers an alternative to material acquired through rainforest clear-cutting, in this way relieving some of the pressure in the remaining world’s rainforests.

bullet

Our tree farms benefit the local community by providing much needed employment in the area. We still have land available for tree farming and there are many opportunities in acquiring deforested land in the same area. The more trees we can plant the more families will be employed.

bullet

Our long term vision for the future use of the land we own is to convert it into a protected privately owned forest by means of an ecological easement of the land. As a matter of fact we already allocated sub areas within our tree farms to non-commercial plants and trees without intention of harvesting them. The fruit and shelter trees are planted to provide habitat for wildlife, in particular birds.

When we are around our trees and in the farm - we just feel so relaxed and at one with nature. It was great to be there.

The next day we visited a local school we have adopted. Before we went there - we bought new notebooks, pencils, cookies and some fruit juices for the kids.
We were surprised by the welcome we received. As we step out of our car, we were swarmed with happy faces.
As you can see, the children take Jules’ right hand and place it on their foreheads - it is a sign or respect. It’s called “pag mamano” - ( kissing an elder person’s hand) mano means hand in spanish. The students and teachers have prepared a program for us to show their appreciation for the things (school items) we have sent them six months ago which I collected from the good people of Freecycle here in Singapore.
The teachers and parent-teacher council gave gratitude speech and the children also prepared dance numbers to entertain us. We were overwhelmed with joy to witness all this. After the program we have distributed the things we have brought for them - they are very happy with the few little things we have brought.
Thanks Mo for letting me use some of your pics!
After the beautiful program we walked around to see their classrooms and then we were treated to a sumptuous meal. It was such a great day. It is great to be able to extend help and see them appreciate little things that we sometimes neglect.

………..you are still here with me? Wow thank you!
