A stroll in the city

Mar 26, 2009 under Food Finds, Personal, Singapore | 4 comments

My hubby is in China for some meetings. After being at home for 2 whole days, I decided to go out yesterday and get some sun. I went to the city to do an errand for my mom and then I ate my favorite food at the moment – Soto Ayam. I ate it at Ayam Penyet Ria located at the Lucky Plaza Mall.

Mmmm it was the best soto ayam in Singapore I think. They are actually an Indonesian chain and that’s why I love it. It is almost the same as what my MIL (She’s Indonesian/Dutch) makes.

Anyway, after eating I went for a stroll at the mall and this Nintendo Wii thingy caught my attention. I have been seeing this everywhere on the internet and was wondering if it really works. Do you have any experience with this? How much weight have you lost by using this?

And if you recommend this, what Wii accessories do I need to buy as well?

snails

We have many of these creatures in our garden at our previous place.

I have seen some restaurants here in Singapore offer snail dishes – never had the urge to try them though. I don’t know I just find it too Ewww! If you know what I mean. I can eat balut but these …hmmm maybe you need to pay me a hundred bucks to eat it.

Have you ever eaten snail before or any other unusual food?

Check out my other Wordless W entries here and also I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce to you guys my new blog- Pictures and Cultures this will be the place where I will share my favorite pictures that I have taken with my cam on different subjects ranging from nature, people, travel and culture. We are exploring our new neighborhood little by little. We went for a stroll at Eastcoast road to try to find the famous 328 Katong Laksa but I didn’t really feel like eating Laksa that day so I tried the Roasted Duck Noodle next door instead.

The taste was yummy but the server is a bit grumpy. People in the food business here should seriously be taught about customer service. The pricetag – $3 for this plate. The portion was quite small and I didn’t really felt satisfied so after our meal we went to find some goodies to bring home.

And we found something truly filling, some peranakan goodies.Hmmm…yummy!

I am really loving our new neighborhood. There’s still so much to explore!

You can find these food stalls/shops along Eastcoast Rd. I don’t know yet how to get here by bus but if you are take a cab from Bedok MRT, it shouldn’t cost you more than $10 (I think).
