Looking at the Sky Friday

These pictures were taken at the Marina Barrage here in Singapore. Marina Barrage is a place where they have set up a flood control scheme. But I am not gonna bore you with all the extensive details on what it is:) If you’d like to learn more about it, visit their website here.

kite-flying

I always wanted to fly a kite I when was younger….( I still want to fly a real kite like the in the picture ) I actually did flew a couple of kites but they were all handmade with newspaper so it didn’t really go anywhere but I had fun doing it.

What I could say is that it’s a great place to have a panoramic view of the city. If it’s not too hot, it’s a really nice place to relax. What can you do here aside from flying a kite?

This is one thing you must do when you are here, walk on the 350-metre long dam which is what we just did.

They do have a small museum where visitors get to learn more about the Marina Barrage. They also have a solar park with 405 solar panels.

I’ve also seen people bring a book, ipods and enjoy a time alone. It’s just an excellent place to relax, breathe fresh air and enjoy the view of the city.

It’s pretty easy to get there with a car or taxi but you can also easily go there via the Marina Bay MRT station and from there you can take a free shuttle to the Marina Barrage.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. It’s almost weekend, I can’t wait for The Hubby to arrive on Saturday again. I wish you guys a wonderful weekend and Thank you so much for stopping by;)!
